This site includes rare baseball and sports card sets including complete rare insert card sets, complete vintage and modern set years from Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Upper Deck, and all of the current brands even spanning Exquisite, National Treasures, T206, and more.   Some of the rare complete set selection will include rookies such as Mickey Mantle from 1952 Topps and 1951 Bowman, Ken Griffey Jr most notably from 1989 Upper Deck, Don Mattingly from 1984 Topps, Donruss, and Fleer, and many more superstar and hall of famers such as Honus Wagner from 1909 T206 tobacco cards, Willie Mays from 1951 Bowman and 1952 Topps, and Jackie Robinson.  Also, there will be basketball rookie cards and autographed jerseys from the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and many others.  Football rookies will include Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Joe Montana and top hockey rookies will include Wayne Gretzky and Steve Yzerman. Insert card sets can be very rare as well, with some being numbered to as low as 1 of 1, when considering the rare parallel versions that many modern era sets have.  Some of the articles included on this website will be listed here so that you can find them.  Please also see our related sites for more detail specific information on different types of cards such as baseball cards, rookie cards, traded sets, football cards, autographed jerseys, and more.  Autographed sports cards can be very rare and highly sought after, and a complete autographed insert card set can be worth several thousands of dollars if they are of rare, low numbered serial numbered insert cards.  For game used bat cards, please check out our related website which includes pictures of some of my baseball cards.

This page is a compilation currently of every rare baseball card set item available throughout our related site links, and every link will lead you to detailed product listings, descriptions, and reviews on various major baseball card sets focused on rarity, and will focus almost 100% on rare cards.  If you want to find other sports cards and articles on various topics related to other sports cards, the related sites are listed on this page as well.   Traded Sets are great for having extended rookies that are not in the regular issue set for that particular year.  That link will take you to a site specifically geared toward those.
Rare sports card collection photo including baseball, football and hockey cards from a sampling of cards in my current collection.  Autographed jerseys are great collector items as well.

For rare baseball cards, here is a quick lists of sets to note.  1909 and similar years have Tobacco cards that are worth a lot of money if they are authentic.  Even if they are in poor condition, most of the time they will fetch $100 even in Poor condition, with upwards of $1,000 in top condition.  For Topps baseball cards, 1952 was the inaugural year, with the Mickey Mantle high number card being the most popular card in the 1950's by far to most collectors.

In football, basketball and hockey, as in baseball, any set from the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's in near mint or better condition is considered very rare and valuable, and sets in the 1980's are beginning to take that shape as well since unopened material is being sold and opened constantly.
Here is a quick list of cards you should check for in the 1980's.

Baseball - 1980 Rickey Henderson rookie card (Topps), 1982 Cal Ripken, 1983 Tony Gwynn, Ryne Sandberg, Wade Boggs, Julio Franco

Basketball - Any 1980's rookies (basketball from Star Company 1983-86 and Fleer 1986-89 is rare and highly sought after).  Here are the most rare years of cards, so an entire set would be ideal in these years.

From the 1980's, these are the best rookie cards to have.

1980-81 Magic Johnson and Larry Bird (even more valuable in near mint to mint condition)

1983-86 Star  Michael Jordan, John Stockton, Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Isiah Thomas, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, James Worthy among several others (if you have any Star Company cards from these year they are quite valuable)  An entire set of sealed team bags from any year including all of the teams can be worth upwards of $1,000 or more in highly graded condition.
